My AC Has stopped working. I have checked for gas pressure and 90psi. Checked the clutch is kicking in and out and it is. Does that mean the compressor is gone goosed. Photo just for reference

90psi (6.2bar) at rest? Does it change at all when the clutch engages?

Not sure which compressor the freelander 2 uses, but there is a very well known problem with Volvo EUCD vehicles (upon which the FL2 is based) where the connection between the compressor pump and clutch is through a splined shaft which strips it's teeth so the clutch is locked and rotating but not connected to the.pump.

There is a very cheap kit on eBay to replace the spline, and the repair can be done in situ, without degassing. Have a search on eBay, maybe Volvo compressor repair kit

Yes 90psi at rest, I will put the gauge on when running soon and see. My wife says its now working, but I don't think it is, I'll check the running pressure tomorrow in daylight.

Can you measure/read HP and LP?

Both should be equal at rest, I would expect 4.5+/-0.5 bar. Obviously HP should rise with the clutch engaged, system will shut down around 28 bar, refrigerant will explosively vent at 32 bar.

I have a gauge set up for the blue connector is that LP

Normally blue is LP, red is HP on R134a guages.

Of course if you have SDD (diagnostics btool) you can read the HP sensor in real time.

AC is working again, not sure why.
