Ours is a full size 19" steel - looks massive when you lift the cover... FL2 TD4 XS manual, XS style pack, Martinique Blue

Scotland 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Izmir Blue

Hi Guys,

I took this issue up with LR Engineering and the answer they gave was the wheel bolts are Alloy wheel type - they have a different seat taper from the steel wheel ones - other manufacturers - Merc and Vaukhall give another set of bolts for use with the spare wheel. My car has 17" alloys and was to come with a 17" steel one - still labelled for 50mph. I got all the answers already mentioned at the dealers and the LR experience guys - when LR gave me a support person (she called me up from LR) I asked her to get the correct answer and it was the wheel bolts.

Yeh, well, ok, LR - what about having given us steel wheel bolts for the spare - wouldn’t have cost much more than the sticky labels on the 50mph wheel Shocked

Sorry I don’t buy that one - there must be another reason Confused unless of course LR couldn’t trust us to use the correct bolts when doing a wheel swap Rolling Eyes
In earlier Opel years with two sets of wheels with different bolts, I have never managed to use the wrong ones at any time Wink 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

Hmm.. If that's the case, I wonder if I can take the tyre off and put it on the spare alloy wheel with no tyre that I have. 09MY FL2 Td4 XS, Style Pack, Privacy Glass, Martinique Blue.. oh so very blue..
