Canada 2008 LR2 i6 HSE Auto Tonga Green
UK LR Tourist.

I'm going to be in the UK later this week visiting family. Are there any LR special events or sites I could check out?

Anywhere I can see an LRX?

I always enjoy the UK because of all the different cars (from what is available in north America). All the different name plates, smaller vehicles, and of course right hand drive. I saw my first Freelander there in 1997, which wasn't available in Canada until 2002.

I'm originally from Burmingham! Laughing

Land Rover is based in Solihull (posh suburb of Birmingham).

Heritage motor centre at Gaydon - 30 mins from Brum. Also next door to Jag Land Rover test centre. Or try to see if you can go on the Land Rover Experience at Solihull - links on LR website for it.

That not really England, just the spare land at the southern end of our country, good luck but aim further north if you return.

I'd agree with Gaydon, and seeing if you can get on a LR experience, not cheap, but not that expensive either.

Can't you do factory tours at Solihull, I know it isn;t the home of the FL, but it is the original LR factory.

I think that the factory tours may be offered as part of the LRE package. Not cheap though!

Thank you for the suggestion. I visited the Heritage motor centre web site. That's a lot of cars. They even have the "Range Stormer" concept on display.

It's also on route between Brum and London (if you use the M40)

I'm back from my UK trip.

It was too short, wasted most of my time traveling.
Traffic was worst than I remembered it and Public transit was too slow (for such a short distance).

One of my cousins lives on Lode Lane in Solihull, other end from Land Rover.
Didn't know until I got to his house. Surprised

I did get to visit the Heritage Motor Center. Loved it!!
I recommend taking the one of the scheduled tours.

Sorry only pics from my PDA/Phone. More in my Gallery
