I think "elephantbar" would be a more fitting description.... Steve

Why? Coz I like to travel in Australia. Roos don't only come out at night. I've hit roos with and without bullbars. One of those options is infinitely preferrable.

I understand the aesthetic objections, but bars aren't for that.

Purpose-designed bars for Freeos are rarer than rocking horse $h!T. Having one designed and built would be cost-prohibitive, IF you could find someone to do it for you. I'd do it myself but I neither have a TIG nor weld well enough.

The pics show the bar just sitting in place, haven't modded any mount yet. The bar still needs to move up about 30mm. A certain amount of cutting may be involved, I'm chewing on the best way to alter the reinforcing bar behind the bumper. I'll use the crushable cans from the reinforcing bar.

Just have to gird my loins, like when I got into my D1 guards with a jigsaw. That was a very thrilling day.

Cheers guys MY11 SD4 SE Auto

I have absolutely no idea what a ā€œsilver fernā€ is.......but assume coming from Oz itā€™s something derogatory regarding non conforming gender males šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

TBH if you need something like that, you need it......will be interesting to see what a hash.....er......great job you do when finished Wink Regards
