Hi, looking for some advice for my brother who's looking at getting a new XS.

Can anyone advise on a likely current price and maybe a desperate dealership (South-East preferred)?

And what options should he consider getting? He's asked my advice, but I don't really know much about FL2's

Welcome to the other side.

I'm sure someone on here has jsut got an XS for £22k, so I guess that'd be a starting point.

As for extras, I only got mats with my XS, but I wish I'd ordered the heated screen. I'm glad I didn't bother forking out a fortune for satnav, or anything.

The only thing I'd say, is that if he's only used to your D3, it'd be worth noting that you only get armrests on the HSE, or with leather upgrade, and no one on here has worked how to fit them easily or cheaply, yet.

Yep, picking up an XS with XS style pack on the weekend. Cost about £22.5K. About £21+ for XS without pack. FL2 TD4 XS manual, XS style pack, Martinique Blue

Think the offer was upto £5k discount depending on what model, im sure you might to be able to haggle a little more

I got my GS for £19995 with metallic paint and rubber mats. I really tried for more but the dealer was standing firm.

Overall I was very pleased with the deal.

You never know, they might convert you with the test drive

I got around 5.5k off the list price XS (with extras) - some of this was from landrover and some from the dealer

This was from York - they had two 09's - Black and Blue - I took the Black through choice but the blue was 1k cheaper which was a great buy but it had to be black for me plus I got a great deal anyway.

Worst experience so far?....found a nail in my tyre last night whilst refueling

Well, he liked the car (a manual XS). Looking around at others he's plumped for an SE - he wanted the heated screen, the sat nav (he doesn't want his TomTom sitting in the 'space') and as he liked the glass roof it made sense to go up to SE.

He got offered a reasonable deal on Ismir? Blue (offered better on black, but didn't want that) plus mats all round plus the first service free - just waiting to see if he signs today...... Discovery 3 HSE

Just ordered a Freelander 2 XS in Silver - no extras - from Stratstones in Gloucester/Cheltenham. Price was my P/X (valued at 8 ) + 13.8k. I reckon the deal has a real value of ~21.4 which I'm happy with.

A colleague of mine bought an X3 from them a year or so ago and had great service and got it for a really good price. TD4, HSE, Santorini Black, SS side protection tubes, clear side repeaters, chrome wing mirror covers

They don't do Part Ex though (whatever they say on their website). Personally I have used DriveTheDeal with no complaints twice previously when I had no P/X.

Bought my new 09MY GS last week from Alister at Hunters Guildford from their managers special list. There was a selection of XS on the list. Worth a try.
