My car is coming up for 5 yrs old, phoned a dealer to get a price for service.. £460 for an interim service, what do I get for that I asked? Oil change, oil filter and pollen filter changed, several other things checked.
I called an other dealer, oh LR are doing a special service rate on cars your age £275 for an interim service.
Is someone lying or not doing their job properly? Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

Oil £20 (correct C1 grade)
oil filter £3 (27mm spanner £4)
pollen filter £10

also doing Air filter £10, fuel filter £25, front pads £30, rear pads £30

Crazy prices for dealer servicing. I bought all the genuine filters from matfords, £69 and Millers C1 oil for less than £30. £100 all in plus my (free) time.  Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Just had my annual service.

LR Main Dealer 5yr (80k mile) £293.47 plus VAT = £352.16 inc parts and 'Lifetime Free MOT'.

Also included a free 68reg auto DS to drive around in all day (still rather have my FL2), good attentive service, and as much coffee as I could drink.

I pay an additional annual fee of £640 inc VAT which covers a LR Extended Warranty and MOT Cover.

I choose the Inclusive LR route now because, all though I started my motoring career doing repairs and maintenance myself, cars have become more complicated and I have become more simple. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

You can just about half that quote again at an indy

Our local Indy had got to be in essence, a mini main dealer with fantastic showroom etc and charges around 75% of Main Dealer, but still too expensive for a Ford Diesel. So I looked a bit further afield. I found Maltings near Doncaster , their rates for the A and B services , £169 and £249 .

Obviously our FL2 is 10 years old so I’m not precious about who services it as long as it’s done right . Where people get the service done probably varies with how long they keep the car , the longer you have it , the less value from main dealer prices . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

I called our “local” independent garage last year and were only £40 cheaper than the main dealer, I didn’t think it wasn’t worth not having the dealer “stamp” on the service “book” Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

My dealer was £395 Inc MOT ( £45 )

So £350 same as last year and local indy wanted same

I have a bit of corrosion on a wheel, not my fault as the wheel hasn’t been kerbed, I complained to LR. & they’ve given me £300 towards my next service.
My initial moan was that there are 2 dealers with 2 hugely different prices for the same service.
Next year I’ll probably go to Dundee. Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!
