Neighbour’s new car

Our neighbour has just purchased a 2015 (pre-facelift) Jaguar XF saloon. I’m not sure what model it is but it has full leather interior with heated seats, front and rear parking sensors and a reversing camera. Oddly I expected it to have electric folding wing mirrors but it doesn’t.

It’s a very nice car but will take lots of polishing as it’s in black so will show up the scratches. It’s a 2.2 turbo diesel with about 200bhp. Only 47k miles on the clock too.

It’s rear wheel drive on summer tyres so I suggested he will need to be careful in snow. He told me it has a snow button which limits revs and easily gets through snow. In the absence of winter tyres, which he has no desire to buy, I’m skeptical of it.

Any experience of this snow button in a Jag? LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Mostly they just make the vehicle start in second or third gear depending upon throttle position (some can override the setting if the throttle pedal is “floored”), some manufacturers limit the torque available also.

It’s certainly NOT a miracle button Laughing Regards

Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me......

Please let me know if anything in my post offends you, as I may wish to offend you again......

My Velar as well as having GGS on the TR it has low traction launch which severely limits throttle response to prevent wheel slip, I used it a lot during the beast from the east and it worked well but this was in conjunction with GGS and having all wheel drive, though the Velar is rear wheel drive biased. Not sure how well it works on the Jags though. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200
