Engine should be idling to do the level check. A drive around the block is usually enough to get it up to temp. Some diagnostic gear will indicate oil temp as well. (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.

Cheers,I did it at 40' and in park with engine switched off.i was lucky and never spilt any on emptying and put exact fresh amount back in.will go give it a gentle run and try again...cheers |

Thanks agin,done it ,engine idling and only dropped 150ml ...all sorted now.
