Team Dynamics Wheels..

I’m looking for new tyres and have been offered locally a set of wheels with the usual 235 60 18 Pirelli Scorpion Verde 107v fitted. The wheels / tyres are only 200m from new and at a great price. They have apparently come from a 2013 Freelander.
They are Team Dynamics Monza RS Redline. However if I search these wheels on any of the many alloy wheels websites they never come up as FL2 compatible. They are 7.5J - I think the OEM figment is 8J? Would this be the reason they aren’t compatible and would it make much difference if so? The seller says they were supplied by Wheelbase.

Thanks for any insight, even if it’s just to say how crap they’d look on an FL2 Smile

BRAND: Team Dynamics
MODEL: Monza RS
STYLE: Multispoke
WIDTH: 7.5J
DIAMETER: 18 Inch
BOLT PATTERN: Most 4 & 5 Stud Fitments
OFFSET: ET37 to 45
COLOUR: Black Red

There’s someone here who refers to such wheels as “poodle rims”. An apt description in my opinion. Poodle with the shaved legs and pom pom bits. I think they would look awful on an FL2. Can’t help with the fitment.

The ET may be the determining factor here, Freelander wheels have an ET of 55mm. That is a significant difference. Try a wheel conversion site, you just plug in the original numbers and your replacement set, it will tell you how clearances etc will be affected.

I don't get the ET37 to 45 though, that shouldn't change MY11 SD4 SE Auto

Don't ask me...........cannot stand the trend for Black wheels on cars, for years we cleaned them religously to get the brake dust off so they look good, now they look dirty from brand new Rolling with laughter

As Dan says though, try to check the load rating of the actual alloy wheels, I suspect they should be OK as the FL2 isn't the heaviest 4X4 in the world but if your likely to do ANY off roading at all I will guarantee they have not be tested for those conditions just normal kerbing. wheel drop and speed tests (if they are TuV/DoT approved). Regards

David

Rimstock are the manufacturers of these wheels, but they are not within their "4X4" range (although probably doesn't matter) but there is not info on their site referring to precise specifications just "Engineered to exceed the exacting German TUV quality standard"......give them a ring and ask specs.

edit : the TUV quality standards they refer to could JUST be the corrosion resistance rather than any load testing, impact testing the TUV specifiy. Regards

David
