Well I bought a 12v fluid pump. I took out the level checker and let it come out until it was no longer draining. I added that back in along with about a liter, which is what I suspect drained out when I pulled the plug the first time. I took it for a drive and came back, pulled the level plug to level it off. In the end it didn’t seem like I was really that low on fluid. I went for another drive and everything seems smooth so far. I was able to get to the fill plug on top of the transmission and found that it was stripped. I really had no choice but to pump in the fluid from the level checker. It was a messy job and I don’t recommend doing it that way. I will now find a shop to do a proper flush over the summer at some point.
