Belgium 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Zermatt Silver
ptc heater in Belgium

Last friday went to the dealer for my first service (24.000km). They took out the fuse of the ptc. I've been reading a lot on this forum on this recall and tought my vinnumber wasn't included in those who were supposed to do this recall. At the dealer they said that they had a list of the numbers to do the removing of the fuse and that I would recieve a letter from LR for the recall. I find this a bit strange, because in the UK this is going on since last year. But will wait for this letter. In a way I feel connected now with all of you at the other side of the Northsea. For members from Belgium who have like me a MY08, maybe a little check on this? Fl2 zermattsilver TD4 S man

Interesting thread which I would like to add to any other Belgian FL2 drivers. I have a March 08 S which has been fine despite the best attempts from useless Belgian dealers to detroy the car by not servicing it properly .
A few weeks ago I was in the UK and went to Barretts in Ashford for something and they informed me my car had missed 3 recalls .
I have never been informed by the Belgian dealer or importer and have owned the car since new and had it 'serviced' (I use the word very loosely in this context) at the dealer. Thy regularly send me junk mail but didn't inform me about the recalls. Barretts said that had it been a UK car they would not allow me to leave theior delareship without having had the 3 recalls corrected but as was booked on a Eurotunnelto head home they couldn't very well do much at that moment. They offered to do the work for me so I booked it in for the work a couple of weeks later and they lent me a brand new FL2e and didn't charge me a penny. They were just amazing when compared to any dealer I had been to in Belgium. From now on I am happy top hop back to the UK for all my servicing - because I know it will get done. Thumbs Up Credit where credit is due.... and Angela on the service desk is very cute too Wink

Interesting information jvbox. As I've read a lot about the ptc heater on this forum as well, I spoke my dealer about it. (I life in Ghent and so does my dealer) They knew nothing about this subject so I wonder if the Belgian importer follows the LR procedures.
Oh yes, my car is from 2007.
