Is there any way of making these brighter? I like the way the Disco 4's have really bright Sig strips, but the FL2 isn't that bright? Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Higher power LED would do it, don't know what size they are though, the strip itself is a 'light pipe' all you need is a brighter LED. I recall a Russian post where they had different colours so someone must have an idea.
I would be invested in this too, although they are quite bright already.

I actually think it looks better this way, subtle.
It makes the disco look dated. MY15

Totally agree. They looks just right as they are I reckon.
Still, if there is a way i'd be interested to hear of it.

Cheers guys.

I don't like the circle of LEDS either. I have noticed that these are on a separate circuit to the signatures. I wonder...... If I disconnect the circle of LED's and leave the signature strip plugged in. Would it bring up an error? Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. I remember reading on here someone's DRL wasn't working and they made no mention if an error.
Funny! I actually like the round DRL's Laughing
You can go into CCF and turn these off or have a number of different configurations, on, off, with dip beam etc.
The gentleman who changed his signature lighting colour simply changed out the white SMD
led for a RGB LED. He could then rotate between the colours. I actually quite liked it but not sure I'd get away with it Rolling with laughter MY15

The signature strip has different functions in the D4 and FL2

On the FL2 it is the sidelight, hence lower power. On the D4 it is the DRL.

On the D4 you'll notice that it dims when the headlights are on.

Yes, this is correct, but you can also change in CCF both DRL's and signature
Strip lighting configuation. Only one you can't do is change signature strip
Lumens, this is fixed on FL2. MY15

I was sure on mine, maybe its an illusion, but when the round LEDs are off, as they are in side light mode, the signature strips brightened?

That's a good point! The round LED's go off when the indicator is on which makes sense as the round LEDs are the DRL.

I wonder if they can be swapped around? So the signature strip becomes the DRL and the round LEDs stay off? Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

I'm not sure of all the configurations available for all markets but if you can get a diagnostic tool and go into the BCM it will list all the different modes available. I'm pretty sure the DRL can be disabled. MY15

Brightness of the signature strip

If I may bring this topic up (did a search, this thread seemed closest).

Is there a way to make the signature strip brighter so that it functions as a daytime running light? I would love the signature strip to be as bright as the ones on the Disco 4. I reckon the D4 strips look the business.

the signature strip, of the FL2, is a 'side lamp'.

the DRL, on the FL2, are bright in the day and lower intensity at night time .

whats the problem.

.
