But it’s like every other vehicle, if the consumer’s heart is fixated on a particular marque or type them they will only look at those regardless.

Let’s be honest there are alternatives which do just as good a job for most purposes to the FL2, D3/4 and even the FFRR now with the Bentayga and Cullinan, they may not be Amazon rain forest destroyers but they make good alternatives, unless of course a Land Rover is what your heart wants, then the salesman is chuckling all the way to the order book cupboard Very Happy Regards

OK perhaps I was a pushover but when we got back to the showroom an older guy took over to discuss money.

You weren’t a pushover, you just loved the FL2 and saw an opportunity to upgrade easily right in front of you, who wouldn’t?

My comment was tongue in cheek, that young salesman was most likely out of his depth when you started asking questions, he knew the game was up, but he was still a salesman and could smell a sale. Regards

I’m hard pushed to think of a single competitor that could come close to matching the D3/4’s all round breadth of capabilities, while the Cullunan and Bentayga not only match, but greatly exceed, all of the things that I really don’t like about RR ownership! Rolling Eyes Laughing

Which has the appeal of a Defender, but lacks the on road sophistication of the D4 and costs a great deal more Shocked

Have to disagree a bit there, drove a G-Wagon a couple of years ago and it drove great on the road, not at all like a Defender, also very much plusher inside, but yes your correct, price wise it’s a corker!

And of course the new model out this year is a complete redesign, very nice.

Still an ugly beast though Rolling with laughter Regards

You don’t think a Range Rover/Sport is not the epitome of the standard drug dealers car? Rolling with laughter

The new G-Wagon is a completely new platform and architecture, no hang overs from days of the German tractor.

Totally agree with the Amazon choice, but still not as sophisticated or pleasant to drive as the RR, bloody darn sight more reliable though Whistle

Bloke at the top of our lane has a sparkling new Amazon, must say it looks nice with the jewelled headlamps, truck sized proportions and beautiful light full leather interior, but after just a couple of weeks he got a bumper scrape from some transit doing work on his house, it’s a very narrow lane! Regards

I prefer the older “Birthday Edition” Amazon

Proper axles
Proper gearbox
Proper diff locks
Luxurious interior, includes fridge.

But most of all.....................Reliable
