There are different grades of stainless steel, low grade will lightly rust but food grade shouldn't, this is what I was told by a steel maker as they said it's stainless not rust-less.

I fitted that identical tow bar last year. No problems at all. Electrics are fine. If you have the front parking sensors and the dash switch, you can always turn the annoying beeping off there. I did this for a while but i have just coded the software to enable the trailer mode.
