Blue Spark Tuning box

I have just bought and installed the Blue spark tuning box, to try and try help economy

I note in the instructions there are several settings for performance, any one tried this unit and what setting has given best results?

I set mine to the middle setting - and then when towing go for the max torque.

The max torque also gives the best MPG.

Don’t forget that manual FL2’s are torque limited in 1st gear!

I might be a bit thick but what does that mean and how does it affect the tuning box? 2014 Freelander 2 XS TD4

The max torque of the engine is close to the max rating of the gear box. The factory mapping takes this into account and limits the power in first gear(maybe second as well). Modified maps “might” not do the same.

I found that adding the bluespark added a bit of zest to the car. Turbo lag was greatly reduced. It feels more responsive and fun to drive.

With regards to the torque blowing the manual box to pieces - I am going to drive more careful and work the gears more.

These have been around for a while - I had a CR Tech Bluespark on my Jaguar Diesel - loved it - search my user name on the Jaguar forum and you'll find plenty of posts etc
It definitely improved power and economy on the 2.2D engine No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

I've just fitted my Bluespark CR Tech box this weekend. The hardest part was trying to get the plastic cover off the engine but installing the box was easy. I've just done a 150 mile trip and I'm amazed at the difference the box has made. Turbo lag is greatly reduced, acceleration is smoother and fuel consumption is improved (from 34mpg to 40mpg!) -------------------------------------------------------------

Hi, just fitted the same box and am impressed. How are you getting on with it after a year of use?

Thanks

After a year of using the BlueSpark, I'm still happy with the performance and fuel consumption, although since March I haven't done much mileage to really test the MPG. I haven't altered the settings so can't really comment on the difference in torque etc. -------------------------------------------------------------
