I am in the process of buying a FL2 and was due to pick it up tomorrow. The trader has just phoned to say it is making a noise like a starter motor turning over whilst it is running. He had his mechanic look at it and he has diagnosed a faulty EGR valve. I have searched the threads on here and looked on the net and none of the symptoms reported include any noise when the EGR has failed/is failing. It has just had the diff replaced so I am beginning to wonder if this is a good time to buy this car or the start of a run of problems! Any thoughts on the noisy EGR valve would be much appreciated.

More likely to be the throttle body its a fairly common fault on the fl 2. Understeer when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower how fast you hit the wall.
Torque how far you take the wall with you.

Let them fit one as it’s not a easy job. Once it’s done it’s one less problem for the future. May be the throttle body though. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
