Just back from a great wee holiday , traveled from Hamilton to a fantastic CL/campsite near Holmes Chapel , spent 5 nights there .. fully serviced pitches with great views and WiFi for £20 pn.
Then on further south to st Neots Caravan and camping club site, first time ever on one of their sites , the only thing I can say is what a bloody carry on to get a pitch. Someone shows you were to go on a bike , sounds good but when there’s a Q of about 8 outfits waiting to get in and only 2 guys on bikes it’s a faff. Best bit was we surprised my mate for his birthday, yes it’s a long way to go to surprise someone but it was worth it.
Headed back home via burrs Caravan club site at bury. Lovely site but it was a bit disconcerting that they had a security guard at the first gate. Seemingly a few days ago a bunch of gypsies turned up demanding to be let in or they would burn the place down.
All in all 955 miles most of that towing and retuned an average of 27mpg .. very happy (towing a bailey U4 Cadiz Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!
