Did you get your replacement part?

If yes then how did the install go?



I just placed an order for the Serpentine belt and a few other parts

My 3.2 is nearly 10 years old and its time for a new belt

For reference here is what I ordered

LR005564 Coolant hose (this is the second most common coolant hose to fail)
LR001442 Coolant pipe Oil cooler to Block (a common failure point)
LR001505 O-ring for 1442 pipe
LR000491 Bolt for 1442
LR004667 AUX Belt tensioner
LR006076 Idler Pulley
LR003570 AUX Belt
LR006071 Thermostat
LR001491 Bolt Thermostat housing (need 4)
LR001988 Oil Cap seal
LR000078 Clip for coolant line (I broke the original clip)


The parts should arrive in a week or two. I will post some pictures (likely at the end of a different thread that outlines the procedure)


Don't forget to post here if the new anti drain valve solved your oil light problem

Hi Paul, the oil filter housing actually arrived yesterday, I removed the heat exchanger as you suggested but am still struggling a bit to open the metal ‘flaps’ to remove the new one... the oil lights still not come back on though

I had the alternator replaced a little while ago and I’m pretty sure they replaced the serpentine belt, current mileage 200 000 kilometres for me.. I’m expecting more repairs soon 😊
I haven’t received the engine mount bracket yet

It took a while for the parts to come to you.


I used a long flat blade screw driver from the top and I turned the handle to bend the tabs.

Something like this




Because you have the Heat Exchanger removed you can use something like this from the side.





When I did mine I was worried about breaking the new part so I used the old part to develop my technique.

As for the serpentine belt parts, I posted that just in case you were interested.

I guess I need to be the one to tell you.

The 3.2 I6 in our land rover has two belts and they are in very different locations.

The first belt is for the alternator and its a very strange looking belt. (I would call it a coupler not a belt)

here is a picture of the belt for the Alternator (Next to the belt is the over drive pulley that is attached to the Alternator)




The other Belt (this is the one that I have the parts coming soon) looks like this

This belt drives the Power steering/Water Pump, AC compressor and it also has an over drive coupler
