I am about to have the rear shock absorbers replaced along with disc's and brake pads, is there anything else I should replace while the back end is being worked on? It's a 07 with 120k on it. Check the drop links for wear whilst your there main cause for clonking noises MY06 FL1 TD4 2 door red (gone)

I agree, just changed mine after an advisory on last MOT. Similar age and mileage.

Easy enough to do yourself if you're able. Cost me £20 a pair from Ebay.

Sort out rear handbrake. With disc/drum removed clean them out and make sure that everything moves freely, these are notorious for getting stuck and giving poor handbrake performance and then MOT fail. Also check rear shoes which might be worn. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

My tame L/R mechanic is doing the job, so for 20 quid I'll get the drop links done, that's on the rear yes, any on the front?

Disc's & pads on front and rear are being done so i guess he would sort the handbrake out. anything on the front? he did mention some rubber bushes on the front but I can't remember what they were for! REME .. Rough Engineering Made Easy

There are also drop links on the front at a similar price. Very easy to change and if you have any play in the old ones the difference in road clunking is amazing. MY06 FL1 TD4 2 door red (gone)
