When did the modified manifold come into play?

Does it still have flaps of some sort or are they gone completely ? Jules

Scotland 2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e GS Manual Zermatt Silver

Previous posts have quoted 2010 for the change. Not sure, though if that is an actual 2010 or a MY2010 (and this is significant to me having a 59 plate but MY2010 car). The pics shown suggest that the casting has both part numbers on it, so looking at it from the outside doesn’t help. I am assuming, though, that the newer version should not have the vacuum hose fitted, which operates the flaps? 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

Unfortunately the inlet manifold comes with two part numbers on it, a number for the inlet manifold with Swirl flaps and one for the manifold without swirl flaps, so you can't actually identify it from the part number alone. If you are buying second hand just make sure you get it confirmed it has no swirl flaps.

They are fitted to a range of vehicles, mine came for a 2.2 Ford Galaxy Mk3 \ Mk4 2010-2014

They do have both part numbers on but the circle next to the part number has an arrow pointing to the correct number. I purchased one from ebay and the picture showed it to be a "without swirl" the one above is "with swirl"

Wheres the bloody Indians. Shocked

The Lone Ranger and Tonto were caught in cross fire between some cowboys and Indians, totally pinned down, been there for days and out of supplies
Lone Ranger says "Tonto, scoot on over to the Bacon Tree and get us some bacon, I'm starving!"
Tonto "Yes Kimosabe" and runs off into the bushes
A day and a half later Tonta staggers back to where they're hiding, arrows and bullet holes all through him, on deaths door.
"Jesus, Tonto, what happened?"
"kimosabe, that no Bacon Tree, that Ham Bush" FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
