Im actually pleasantly surprised with the way the Freelander handles deep puddles, you want to try them in a Discovery 2, thats like hitting a tidal wave the way the water comes up around you. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

As said my sally, All 4x4,s throw up water. I have driven Shoguns, Toyota Amazons, Disco 2, Disco1 and they all throw up water.
If you are quick enough to pull your wiper lever and hold it in high speed until you clear, it helps.
Or just slow down a wee bit in watery roads/

Bear in mind flooded roads can hide deep pot holes too.

Fun though it can be (and tempting to wash off the winter salt) the boring advice is if you are going so fast it comes up over the windscreen you are going too fast.

The hydraulic pressure of water hit at high speed can be quite damaging too, which is worth bearing in mind.

If I see a big puddle coming and its unavoidable I just whack the wiper stalk right up. The auto wipers are too slow to react, had a few brown trousers moments!!
