Sorry to hear the fault proved terminal. The FL2 should have lasted at least twice it's 11 years.

On Mar 27th I said
I fear in the future, there will be lots of older cars driving around with similar intermittent faults, - they are going to be hard (and expensive to find, as I think that the average garage will just keep swapping random modules).


I dread the thought of trying to keep my own FL2 running into it's old age. Not only is each new component an expensive part of an expensive machine, but the test equipment and knowledge needed will be far beyond me.

In the past I kept cars running on a wing and a prayer, with a dose of basic mechanical knowledge, (I had my Triumph Dolomite Sprint some 25 years before selling it on to a new owner), but I fear those days are over.

It's a pity Les that you didn't get it going, as you put a lot of effort into trying to solve the puzzle.
