Won’t start in the cold - no Glowplug light on dashboard

Hi all, I know there’s lots of posts about Glowplugs but most of them mention that in the cold you get a glowplug light on the dash and a message...

I’ve never seen a Glowplugs light on my dash in 3 years so perhaps theyre not working due to a blown fuse? Can anyone tell me what fuse to check pleaae?

Thanks 😀

Early models didn’t have a Glow Plug Light, just a slight delay from pressing start to when it cranked, the 07 plate one I had didn’t, the MY11 did though, also had a message appear regarding cranking will start when ready or something similar.
If it starts ok don’t worry. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

My SE 07 has the light, lefthand side of the facial, only stays on for a second or so then fires up. REME .. Rough Engineering Made Easy

My 07 GLS has the glow plug light, my glow plugs do need replacing but still get the light.

My 07 GS has a glow plug light, just doesn’t start well in this really cold weather so they probably need changing this summer!

My 07....you guessed it. With the extra delayed start I also saw a message displayed for the first time saying 'Cranking Will Commence After Glow Period'.

When I looked at this video I was thinking something is strange/wrong. I knew I had seen the glow light, I checked it this morning and then noticed it is is on a different location.

I never realized LR also changed the speedo cluster in a facelift model. Or is it a LHD/RHD thing? It shows the glow light during the delay before cranking but it does not show the message.

Why does the glow plug light not come up on “ignition on” along with all the other warning lights? Surely the best start-up sequence is one that puts all warnings on as a system check, then all off as a “all-functioning normally” confirmation? 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

The car decides itself if glow plug's are required that's why you only see it when it's really cold.
