Park assist beeps

Evening all,

When in reverse and creeping up to another car or a wall, the park assist works and the beeps let me know what's going on. Thing is, when I de-select reverse, I had expected the beeps to cut out, but they continue until I set off driving forward or cut the engine.

Is this normal? Seems odd to me... Rolling Eyes

Cheers all

Bob

Normal. They stay on until you reach a preset forward speed, as often parking is more than just "reverse, stop" and involves some back and forth.

Same in every car I've had with reverse and/or front parking sensors since...... about 20 years ago. Current driveway contents:
2021 V60 Cross Country B5
2009 FL2 dog bus and shooting wagon

On Order: 2023 Fisker Ocean Ultra - deposit paid.

They must have changed after my MY2007 was put together then as my parking sensor tones cut out as soon as I took it out of reverse.

Mine is a 59 - 10 MY and stays on for a few seconds. Do you have front sensors or just rear? Current driveway contents:
2021 V60 Cross Country B5
2009 FL2 dog bus and shooting wagon

On Order: 2023 Fisker Ocean Ultra - deposit paid.

Reason I ask is that rear only it would make sense for them to shut off when you move forward. But if you have front sensors, I would expect them to stay on until you reach a few mph. Can't recall the cutoff figure. Current driveway contents:
