I need to power several devices mounted at dashboard level, with 12 volts switched by the ignition. Does anyone know a good place to take power off, which will enable me to minimise cable runs so the installation looks neat and tidy please? I need the devices to sit pretty much on top of, or around, the instrument binnacle.

I've done some searching, so apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but I can't find any references -

I collected 12v switched from the rear plug, opening the console rear the hand brake and inserting a new cable till the dashboard.

Otherwise you can use the 12v switchd power supply of the radio.

On my car, the boot, and rear 12v sockets are permenant, only the front 12v socket is switched. I have feeds coming off the wiring underneath the centre console just behind the gearstick feeding both my Tomtom and my Pure DAB radio. Seemed to be the easiest place to get a switched feed that wouldn't interfere with anything else. 09MY FL2 Td4 XS, Style Pack, Privacy Glass, Martinique Blue.. oh so very blue..

Sorry, I made a mistake.

Also my car have permanent 12v in the rear plug.

But as I was not able to open the front plug near gear stick, I opened the console rear the hand brake and in that place I find the wire of the front cigarette lighter.

I connect the a new wire from this place to the dashboard.

Thanks Npinks, Aroggati and Frobius, That's lots of help to get me started. I'd already worked out a route from the central console in case I needed it. I'll post here if I find anything useful to others.
