Reports seem to suggest the fire that broke out in the multi story car park in Liverpool was started by a Land Rover engine catching alight. Hope the owners of that car were insured properly. FL2 Metropolis, Loire Blue, ebony/ivory

wonder how many (if insured) will 'claim' their car was burnt out when in fact. . .it wasn't even there, the world these dayzzz never ceases to amaze me . .

Seeing it was at a horse show, I guess there were plenty of RR’s & LR’s there.....

It seems that at least one Land Rover was there.

Liverpool's mayor, Joe Anderson, said the blaze started in a Land Rover on the third level of the multi-storey car park - and police believe this caused other vehicles to ignite.

That's interesting as there was also a fire at the Land Rover dealership in Solihull on Saturday night.

I don’t see how the whole car park went up in flames , ok 1 car goes on fire and that sets light to a few others then hopefully the fire service turns up. How could it spread from floor to floor ? Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

Apparently it was one of those 1/2 floor designs, although in that pic it doesnt look like it.

theres one in harrogate similar the northside is 1/2 a floor lower than south side, so as you park you get a view under the bumper of the car on next level. fire from your bonnet would direct under said bumber, them from his to the one above him.

I have been trying to figure out how the fire could spread across the whole structure - then George comes up with the answer.

With the amount of heat generated I would guess that the whole structure will have to come down and get re-built, or just replaced with flats so someone can enjoy a sizeable profit.

could have been a lot worse, find it hard to believe what Mark Wright said that he could not see one fire extinguisher !!! If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

fire extingishers would get nicked, York multi story has fire hoses, Some people I used to know used to go there at night time spray the floor with water then practice skid and handbrake turns on the slippy surface.

one night the bobbies got sick of this and blocked all the exits and captured the culprits, apart from one guy who found a missed exit and escaped. I was at the cinema with a girlfriend  At work

The concrete floor has been severely damaged in places. I wonder if there will be problems getting the undamaged cars out ?

Cars parked on the roof level were untouched and a pair of labs retrieved the morning after the fire. They were very very lucky. MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.
