Another tailgate switch fitted today, fitted one in February this year and it has failed already
Ive held onto the one Ive taken off, might just get a new microswitch and solder it in, depends how long this one lasts. They are very cheap on Ebay, might be worth shelling out for a genuine Landrover part if it fails again in short order? Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

So needed to get some stone from a local quarry yesterday to do a repair to our lane. Took a twin axle 10 x 5 trailer. Guy on the bucket dumped a huge load into it. On moving off I felt that it was a really heavy load. Onto the weigh bridge on way out to learn that I'd 3.7 tonnes on board (+ the weight of the trailer) 😲.
Hadn't far to go home thankfully, freelander did well pulling more than twice its rated towing weight.
I'm not advocating this but pleased that it took it all in its stride.

A good "cut and shut" job.  MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

Had a call from Landrover dealer I bought the freelander from offering me a service for only £149 - oil change basically.
Just bought all the genuine LR filters, air, oil, pollen and fuel for £69 delivered and 10 litres of Millers C1 oil for £25 and changed the lot today for £94 + my free labour. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Hello Bob, as a new FL2 owner I have really enjoyed this post
Moved from a Disco 2 after 8 years and an empty bank account.
10 plate HSE, two owners, 110k, lots of paperwork, water pump and belts done, haldex overhauled, auto box serviced, Not a scratch on body, Stornoway grey. Still a lot to learn but so far ,great.
I do wash and polish a lot using Turtle wax as a finish.

My brake calipers are more visible and looked a bit grotty.

Bought on of these kits




And cleaned and painted them today. (Didn't want bright red or neon green so just went for a light grey colour.




Pleased with the results.
