electric window not closing on automatic closure

Anyone else experienced this?

when closing the window on automatic (ie holding the switch) it gets to the top and then fully opens again.

i know its hitting its limit thats why its going back down again, but has anyone else had this problem.
i had another car which done this and the fault ws never fixed! 07 Fl2 GS

i think think you mean manually, as holding the switch is not automatic closure, for that you release it after a short press Laughing

I have experience the anti trap feature you are talking about, windows was going up, got part way to the top and came back down. I cleaned the runners and it fixed it.

If you window is getting all the way to the top and then re opening, it may need retraining

The process is IIRC holding the switch to it fully opens and then closed for a set number of times, your dealer may be able to tell you over the phone Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Ouch Big Cry

Just an idea, but have you tried going through the window rest routine, details are on page 79 in the handbook.

I've had the ocassional glitch on my windows but reseting as above has always worked for me Thumbs Up Stornoway Grey GS ... What a fine motor Smile ... but not any more ... Big Cry ... psst look at my gallery!

I had this happen on entering a multi-storey car park shortly after we'd bought the car. Window down, take ticket, close window - goes up then back down to 3/4 open. Couldn't get it to shut fully Evil or Very Mad .... with much fiddling with switch got it closed inch by inch just enough to leave locked and alarmed.

Same problem on exit and it was raining!! Big Cry eventually got it up again - not easy while on the move! Rolling with laughter

At home I couldn't find any obvious debris in the window channel as it was obviously the 'anti trap finger' sensor that was being invoked. I also couldn't remember how to retrain windows, and - so resorted to the manual (having tried the 'obvious' open fully and hold switch far a bit more, close fully, ditto, with no success Embarassed ).

This fixed it and its been as good as gold ever since Thumbs Up.
