Useless tray above hazard switch. Switch panel replacement?

Hi,

What is the point of this useless tray thing? It just annoys me.

It's not big enough hold anything useful and small things just slide off it. It also looks rubbish with the edges all curling up in the heat and it's easily scratched.

I think it would be great place to fit extra switches or maybe a USB port. I have seen Chinese Sat Nav's on ebay that use this spot for switches.

Is there an aftermarket part to replace it that can be pirchased without buying a Chinese Sat Nav? Has anyone ever made a custom one?

Thanks,
Brett. Brett Nicholson

believe it or not its a 'non slip' rest for the heel of your hand for when you using the touch screen Shocked

you could try purchasing the smooth blank panel that replaced it in 2013MY> for vehicles with the sat nav (UK XS, HSE spec models)

then you could cut/fit a USB port, extra switches (for spot lights maybe)

I don't think the later smooth part would fit around the early style radio. 😔 Brett Nicholson

Its for your Golf Tees Whistle

On a golf tour in Newfoundland, Tiger Woods drives his FL2 into a gas station in a remote part of the island.

The attendant at the pump greets him in a typical Newfoundland manner, completely unaware of who the golf pro is.

“Mornin’ bye” says the attendant.

Tiger nods a quick “hello” and bends forward to pick up the nozzle.

As he does so, two tees fall out out of his shirt pocket onto the ground.

“What are dey den, son?” asks the attendant.

“They’re called tees” replies Tiger.

“Well, what on de good earth are dey for?” inquires the Newfie.

“They’re for resting my balls on when I’m driving” says Tiger.

“Freeckin Jaysus” says the Newfie, “Dem boys at Land Rover tink of everything”.

Why are you trying to get rid of the shelf?

That's where the little folk sit, you know the one that add the magic smoke to the electrics (as needed).

Eliminate it if you must but you do so at your own peril.

In case your confused about what the magic smoke is used for here is a link. (no need to read it if you already know)

If you were smart you would leave a little something on the shelf for the little folk.
