Just wondering what everyones thoughts are of the sat nav in the fl2.
i think its a little over complicated and fiddley.

i used to have a pioneer x1r in my beemer at it was very good, told what lane you should be in
at junctions and motorways etc.

after owning th fl2 for over 15 months i still find it hard to use.

what are anyone else thoughts  57 plate, hse stornoway grey with full bodykit, privacy glass, bi-xenon adaptive lights, clear indicators and colour coded door handles (sold now)

I think Tomtom is just a bit too hard to beat tbh. Had a lot of different sat navs, both oem and aftermarket and never found one as easy to use as a TT. 09MY FL2 Td4 XS, Style Pack, Privacy Glass, Martinique Blue.. oh so very blue..

I'm a TomTom fan too.

They seem to offer more flexibility than OEM types (poi downloads etc), which presumably is why you see so many upmarket motors with a TomTom or a Garmin stuck to the windscreen in addition to their OEM kit.

TomTom sits quite nicely on my dash where the OEM would be ...

Only down side compared with OEM is the screen size

I use a Garmin Nuvi 250W and it's perfect for what I want and it's never let me down yet, either here or in France.

Have to agree... i'm still getting used to the one in my Freelander

I miss using my TomTom it's so easy and get straight to the point.

With my Freelander it's just so much hassle specially if your trying to find a place in a town rather than a post code.

I spent 15minutes trying to figure out how to put in Bristol when i was planing on going there.
it's the only real let down i think and if i could i would swap it for my tomtom anyday

I can't understand why tomtom don't licence to manufacturers. Their software is simply the best and how they can put a TT1 out for that money when car manufacturers charge thousands for in built systems I don't know. I also don't understand why they aren't as good when they have a dvd player backing them up, when TT gets by on an SD card. But yes, I prefer TT to any inbuilt system, though to be fair I've only used the merc and LR ones and neither are worth writing home about. I'll stick to my tomtom. 07 Freelander 2 TD4SE Tambora Flame, side steps, privacy glass, mud flaps, boot liner and a tow bar. Ok it's the Wifes but she lets me drive it occasionally - if I've been good!

Yep tom tom for me too ...i ended up sticking the tom tom to the sat nav screen on the courtesy car i had the LR one is pants..

I have a Garmin 250W for the wifes car and it works better and is way easier to use than the LR nav. The LR nav. doesn't have that many poi while the Garmin has tons and you can add them.

I've heard in the states that Garmin has the best maps.
