Stop start will be fairly pointless for rural owners and judging by the number of fl2's in my rural area, thats a high proportion of owners, but still its free so it may as well be had, especially if it lowers the tax band (does it?) At work

Think it is a pretty pointless system anyway Shocked If they are going to save the planet by stop-start systems, I wonder how they will get it to work on the real polluters like aeroplanes Whistle and war Whistle and heavy industry Whistle and tractors Shocked and........ As CG states, its free and it lowers the tax band so all is well. Anything which reduces the excessive amount of tax I already give to the government is a winner in my eyes.

We have it on my wife's 1-series BMW and its a good system once you get used to it. We turn it off in stop/start traffic as it gets a little annoying but at traffic lights etc it works well. TD4, HSE, Santorini Black, SS side protection tubes, clear side repeaters, chrome wing mirror covers

Unnecessary quote removed

Sorry Andy, I don't agree with you. I am talking about specific situations when you are stop starting up to a r/about when you may only be stationary for a couple of seconds max. Driving around towns when you are stopped at traffic lights for maybe 1 or 2 minutes then the system works well. TD4, HSE, Santorini Black, SS side protection tubes, clear side repeaters, chrome wing mirror covers

OK flyboyben - I guess we don’t agree so there is nothing to discuss here - I will never own such a vehicle by choice but if my next drive has a stop strat system, it will be permanently turned OFF anyway Thumbs Up 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
