Fl2 warranty by Vehicle Warranty 4U

Firstly hello having just joined, what a great forum, that has scared me 😂 having recently purchased a 2011 114,000 miles FL2 the warranty that it came with is coming to an end.
I have been googling car warranty and “Vehicle Warranty 4U” has offered a 3 year warranty for what looks to be very good value.
I only do around 6000 miles a year or less and the car has an excellent MOT history.
Car had little service history provided, so i have had a full service done on it and will get the cam belt changed very soon.

Does anybody know anything about, Vehicle Warranty 4U, good or bad or can recommend a good different warranty provider for old cars or should I just not bother with a warranty.

Thanks.

Welcome. I don't have a warranty and not used one of these companies. What is important is what is covered and what is excluded and considered 'wear and tear'. There can be quite a few things that they don't cover.
If you search reviews for the provider in question you'll likely get a decent impression of what customers say. Alternatively just save the money and use it to pay for any repairs.
Freelander 2 is LRs most reliable product and seemingly less problematic than most so you may not need too many repairs over and above routine servicing. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

I was given a free 6 month warranty by my car sales establishment (although they have since ceased trading from that location). My clutch burnt out the other day so I told my local garage I would try and put it through the warranty just in case it was caused by something other than “wear and tear”. I told them my warranty company was AutoProtect. They said that they had blacked them as they never paid. They also said a few other garages they knew also had problems with them. Might be worth asking your preferred repairer who they would recommend.

It’s highly unlikely that you will ever find a reputable company offering a warranty that has any reasonable chance of paying out on a 12 year old car with over 100,000 miles.
At 6,000 miles a year, put money aside every month and you’ll have a much greater chance of covering the cost of a repair.

Thank you for the replies, having read reviews of the likes of motoreasy I have concluded that as John E. suggests better to just save the monthly premium of a warranty then pay for one that is very unlikely to pay out using any excuse they can find.
