Keeping car interior cooler when its warm outside

Short of a garage, car port or leaving the windows down, I've started using the windscreen cover I use to protect against frost in winter.

It's fairly basic and you just trap it in the doors. Shiny silver surface which reflects the heat with the white side facing inwards. Makes a big difference and stops the intense heat fading the dashboard or directly hitting the dashcam.

I do treat the dashboard with Meguiars dashboard cleaner which has 3M Scotchguard protection against UV but the cover gives even better protection on that front. Thumbs Up LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

The best way to avoid an burning hot interior in summer, or freezing cold interior in winter is to buy a FL2 with cloth interior Smile

White car.

Roof insulation, surprising the heat that comes through the roof. Same with the firewall, surprising the heat from there, & insulate the rest of the car. It's also quieter.

Sun screens in every window.

We also leave the windows open 10mm, with the wind/rain shields open windows are not noticeable.

Especially then it is 47°C outside.

Doesn’t that make you jump three miles down the track and the Huntsman drops into your lap? Shocked

I have had 3 Huntsman spiders in the car. Found then & got them out.

In a previous life my boss had a combover. He thought it fell out of place & brushed his hand over his head. On returning his hand to the steering wheel. There on top of his hand looking at his was a Huntsman... He didn't crash the car. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
