Close to buying a FL2 - anything to look for on final test?

Hi all. I'm very close to buying an '08 auto SE and just need a final drive before closing the deal. I've scanned the forums here, and have picked up on the heater issue (good timing with snow drifts on their way). Is there anything else I should look out for? This will be my first auto transmission - is there anything dodgy to listen for?

Thanks very much for any help.

Salesman's patter Mr. Green

I wouldn't think twice about going back to a manual, so long as you are aware of the 25mpg urban and just over 30 the rest of the time

Thanks for the replies guys.

Just finished the test drive. The car is only 5 months old - was a Land Rover management car and has done 6000 miles. I got it for £18400, but with a really good part exchange on my 6 year old Mini Cooper S (although it has done only 45,000 miles). The dealership also matched a really good finance package I'd sourced independently, into the bargain - I guess this is a good time to buy a car. Perhaps better bargains will be available next year, but then the residual on my car is only going one way as well.

Stornoway Grey with Ebony Scuba interior, by the way. Winter mats as well.

I asked him about the heater issue and he knew nothing about it. He did say recall stuff is picked up on the pre-sale check, so I guess the heater will be 'de-fused'. Will check when I pick it up next week. Thumbs Up

presumably you know from other parts of the forum to check that the fuse is cable tied to one of the battery terminal leads? Thats where they are apparently instructed to place it. Thats certainly where mine is. Freelander 2 XS 2.2 TD4 Met Black, with Winter pack, 18" alloys with General Grabber AT2 wellies, MANTEC Sump and Tank Guards
