United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Firenze Red

To be fair I had just been saying I had recently changed my wifes car not wanting anything against my FL2 and that is when he pounced with the offer of the Jag.

Jag - 17 plate and screen price was 69K and he said it was traded in against a Ewock. Maybe its one expensive Jag to avoid ! Black and swirls in paint already apparent from rough washing. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Land Rover press release for PHEV and Mild Hybrid RR Velar.

Also in-line 6 engine, and update for in car electronics. (I have read reports that the post 2018 in car electronic (with second central screen) were responsible for lots of the RRS, Velar, warranty problems)

https://media.landrover.com/en-gb/news/202...fotainment

It should be good news about the engines as in-line 6 engines are inherently smooth. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

I have noticed LR screening TV ads for the New Hybrid Velar.

this new Velar 'doubles' their previous hybrid to staggering 34mls on a charge !!

Is the Velar actually a big seller for LR? There seem to be very few on the road, it seems to be a model designed for a niche in the market that I'm not sure really exists?
High end Evoque or low end RRS would fulfil its role. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Velar

Velar, a beautiful car, my son has a D300 DYNAMIC R HSE 22" wheels that in the recent snow up here it towed UPHILL a 3.5tonne Renault automatic van that was in neutral. Has towed a 26ft caravan and a 3tonne digger on a 14x7 flatbed. Fabulous car. He reckons the D180 Velar is way underpowered for a big car but Landrover have put loads of them out as a cheaper way to get people into the model. With the right spec a Velar is the best looking car in the JLR line up, not just another jacked up jelly mould with the pretence of being a 4x4.

Velar

Yeh, well overloaded no doubt. I had two complete tracks and chains off a 32 tonner with wide tracks put onto the trailer when I had the disco 3. I thought they must be way heavier than I should be towing but the guy that loaded them said they would only be about 2.5 tonne the pair . Typical Landrover can tow anything and the Disco3 was very stable along the motorway but I knew the weight was there by the power needed. At the destination a forky with 30cwt capacity couldn't lift one and the guy had to get the larger one. He reckoned they were over 2 tonnes each! Pus the weight of a 14x7 foot flat bed trailer with sideboards and underneath ramps makes it ?? how much weight?
Nothing tows as safely as a landrover can.

I parked next to some sort of Range Rover yesterday but I couldn't tell if it was a Velar, RR sport or whatever. Total JLR brand and model confusion. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

you need to carry one of these ....... Thumbs Up if only PowerFul UK did a handy wallet credit card size (with ALL models)

although it doesn't show the Velar, which is noticeable by it's 'smooth' door handles, like the current model Evoque.

I thought the same, but this site suggests that in terms of worldwide sales, Velar has bigger annual sales than the FL2 did in its last couple of years. 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

Of course, with China and US being the big markets for JLR, we probably can no longer gauge model preferences by our own local roads. 2005 D3 2.7 Auto
