Looking for a bit of advice, my car's gotten to the stage that it's a bit smelly inside.

I can freshen and clean it up, but really want to clean the seats properly. I used to have access to a VAX, but no longer. I've tried the Vanish foam, but it doesn't work very well.

I'm guessing there must be products on the market whereby you can shampoo it and hoover it off once it's dry.

Any thoughts/ideas ??

Only way to truly clean and deodorise is to use an extractor.

As above , a proper extraction vac will do the best job . Hire one for a day from your local DIY store.

Hi, I'm always cleaning the cloth seats in the other halfs fl2 (ive full leather in disco 3 ) and the best reasonably priced thing I've found is any of the liquid washing machine liquids, ones that work at low temperatures with fabreeze or similar (bio version). I'm amazed how much dirt comes out and leaves a nice smell. Good for seats, carpets and headlining. Just use nail brush if needed, other than that microfibre cloth - doesn't take long to dry if you don't get it too wet. I usually run an extension lead in the car and leave electric blow heater running for few hours if weather cold. Need to do whole seat though not just patches...

Autosmarts Biobrisk get excellent reviews, not used it myself, but normal procedure is lather up a foam, a stiff brush and massage in the whole seat area, to prevent tide marks when it drys

using a extractor vacuum to suck out as much dirty water as possible helps too Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

If it is not leather, I would use an All Purpose Cleaner like the one from Meguiar's with an extractor

Halfords upholstery cleaner.....I was sceptical but it worked pretty well for the price
