Scotland 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e HSE Manual Lago Grey

thanks for the views and comments guys, much appreciated.

I think the finances should be ok, ( although there would certainly be some changes ) and I have hobbies, etc to keep me amused.

I think it's the big decision that's difficult.

thanks

Iain

Cracking thread chaps and some great input. Thumbs Up

I'll give you mine ..... either do it, or don't do it!
Whatever you do don't do as I've done ...... semi-retire!
You're neither in one camp or the other.

I work for myself and giving up any natural flowing income (I've generated from years of hard work) is an exceptionally difficult (and realistically foolish?) decision to take.
I therefore decided to wind things down a bit (meaning I've all but semi-retired) a year or so a go.
Trouble is, before setting out for my day's activities, I may check my emails, it then needs action and one thing leads to another, so maybe two hours later I'm ready to do my own thing ..... then another email or phone call comes in that requires similar action, etc etc.
Or I'm on my day's activities and phone calls come in requiring action that I cannot take, resulting in my curtailing these activities to sort out.
You just can't get away from it, it's like being stuck in a spiders web, seeing everything go on all around you, but not being able to escape it and enjoy your surroundings.
One day I'll take the brave or foolish decision to pack it all in and fully retire ..... but thats a very difficult, self imposed decision I need to make. FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

I was made redundant just before my 61st birthday really enjoyed the job and took a bit of adjusting but if you can afford it and have plenty to do go for it as said you only get one life! Very Happy

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Loire Blue

Took a redundancy package on my 55th birthday with a 6 figure payoff and my final salary pension. I worked out if I did nothing then my pension plus package would equal my previous earnings for 7 years and furthermore, if all I could get was a job stacking shelves in Tesco then I would still be better off until my state pension started at 65 which is worth over £200/week.
As a pensioner with house paid off and kids off our hands we now have more spare discretionary income than ever. The downside is that I seem to be busier than ever and haven't really got time to be writing this..... 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto
Now Discovery Sport P250 MHEV SE
