had this on the wife's vw polo l. found the water pump impeller loose had to change the pump. just a thought. |

just change it, job done no messing about with electric kettle,one possibility out the way,car back on road fairly quick. |

Just had a run with our car last week while connected to a computer. Engine coolant was running at around 70 degrees C.

The computer on my dash says that my average consumption in the city is around 10litres/100 km, when I drive on highway, it goes down to some 7.3 litres (I have diesel engine)

Over the decades I have had 4 thermostats fail. 3 over heating, 1 cooling. Unless the Freelander thermostat is machined out of a solid block of unobtainium they are cheap enough to replace! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

But in Australia don't the dials read the other way up anyway? ie cold at the top and warm at the bottom? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I had the same issue with my ´09 td4. Thermostat was stuck open, changed it and problem solved. |

Hello, is it easy job to do? Changing thermostat, 4 bolts few hoses and sensor cable.

Mine started to over cool as well but it comes and goes. |
