Parking Sensor Fault

I've posted a similar problem before re. the front sensors playing up in the rain, but I've now got a new problem. I've just driven home and the parking are making a high and low constant tone and neither the front or rear are working at all. I've washed and dried the car and taken it for a drive, but the problem is still there! Any ideas as the manual does not help. It states that if there is a fault, the cancel light flashes, but this does not. Big Cry

Any ideas?? Gone - TD4 XS Auto, Sumatra Black, Mud flaps and side strips, clear indicators, private plate, privacy glass

Constant tone, like the cars about to hit something???

Are they doing this only when they are switched on, at very low speeds or by selecting reverse??

The high tone is front sensors and low tones the rear (or the other way round Embarassed ) sounds like water ingress also, thats what mine do when they go faulty.

See this thread as it sounds like we are not alone

Yeah it does the constant tone sometimes and then the front and rear tone continuously. It does this when stationary and the sensors do not work at all when this happens. Strangely enough, I just tried it again and they're working fine. I think they're just termpermental and annoying!! Thanks for post and putting me on to the other thread. Be interesting to know if there are any others on this site?? Thumbs Up Gone - TD4 XS Auto, Sumatra Black, Mud flaps and side strips, clear indicators, private plate, privacy glass

No, they mumbled something about "software update", and apparently that helped. 2008 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Automatic, Caspian Blue, Alpaca, Moon roof, Exclusive pack.

ask them whether they took of the bumper to investing the sensor, connections for water and corrosion Question

they are not visible without doing so Exclamation , but at about 30 mins taking off and same again replacing i can see why they would do the software update mumble jumbo first Evil or Very Mad Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Everytime my car goes into the dealer, they say they have to update the software. I didn't realise these cars ran Windows Vista!! Rolling with laughter Gone - TD4 XS Auto, Sumatra Black, Mud flaps and side strips, clear indicators, private plate, privacy glass

They can't be running Vista (better known as Fister). If they did, you'd rarely get out of your garage, and if you did it would be very slow.
I too am experiencing intermittent issues with the rear parking sensors. I'll be going to the dealers and staring intently at them until I get a resolution. It's likely to be water/rain related in my case (and most others probably).
