Does anyone wonder what's is fitted in your Alpine Pro Logic II 7.1 Surround 14 Speakers??? It's Speakers made by Phillips in China.....

If it is anything like TVs, then it doesn't suprise me.

I belive that a few years ago, Phillips used to make the tubes for about 80% of all CRT TVs, regardless of who it was sold by.

So I can imagine that a compny like Phillips makes speakers for lots of people. And I can't imagine many manufacturers worry about what branding is on the back of a speaker.

Afaik, the Alpine stereo doesnt actually have any Alpine parts. Seems they just get to put the logo on the system because they tuned that particular system to sound good in that particular vehicle. 09MY FL2 Td4 XS, Style Pack, Privacy Glass, Martinique Blue.. oh so very blue..

My Freelander 1 at least has Harmon/Kardon LR branded speakers. I have'nt pulled out the LR2's (Freelander 2) speakers to check yet. It still sounds great for a factory System.

For me it doesn't matter what it says on the speakers as the most important part is the system is so much better than others I have listened to, including the Bose in my Cayman.
The other aspect is that "made in China" is not a major issue as long as the product is through a major company which monitors quality control....and its not powdered milk!

Just got back from Singapore and didn't see any FL2's there, so where were you floppy?  Once you've tasted GREY you'll never go back!
