Towing

Took the plunge today and after a 25 year break we are once again part of the caravan community. Going to be dragging around a 23Ft Coachman which weighs in at just over half the cars capacity (1140kgs) so don't anticipate any issue there.

My question is: Are the door mirrors sufficient for towing or do I need to think about buying some extended ones Question

Afraid the FL2's door mirrors are hardly there for most caravans on the market at approx 2.2m width, just not enough to have a clear view down the side of the caravan. I have Milenco Aero's with the accessory adaptors (for a better fit between mirror edge and surround) and find them pretty solid, of course there are others that people will swear by Smile

Thank you for the suggestions and tips so far.

Can anyone post a link to what they are using (inc any pointers to extras needed).

One concern ? I have auto dipping (for reverse) do you need to disable that if you fit the ones that clip between the mirror body and glass Question

All replies greatly appreciated Cool

No you don't need to disable the mirrors with grand aeros, I had plain on the drivers side and convex passenger, swapped them on the continent, the convex one allows you to see the 'van roof and any hatches open and the FL mirrors sey to watch the 'van wheels my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

I use Milenco Grand Aeros with clamp adapters as per npinks. Both convex (as per trucks) can't get along with flats. No problems with the dipping mirrors.

I've got these

they say nearside only but they work on the offside as well, just turn them over. Common sense isn't very common.
