clamp it put some self tapping screws in a whole lot of araldite and some luck?.

Pin is OK, 12mm steel pin into a plastic casting... Engineering at its finest.
A repair may be futile with 17st lumbering into it twice a day Laughing

I would tap some threads into the armrest &/or a plate behind if possible and machine a recess in the face for a second plate. Do as many holes as possible to spread load. Do the first two to hold together then keep adding more bolts. Preferably metric thread as they are a bit finer than whitworth thread. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

What good is a plate in the behind ...??? Mr. Green Mr. Green Wales
Were the mud is thicker, and the ruts are deeper.
