Anyone know what this noise is ?



Steering rack was replaced yesterday but didn't seem right when driving away from the garage. Steering still felt stiff at time and a bit lumpy. Anyway , I've done about 6 miles in it since then and just as I was coming to the end of my journey I could hear a noise like a Hoover , I could hear it while driving and the video is obviously when it's stationary. The sound is a lot louder than it appears in the video and is pretty much identical to a Hoover noise.

I don't know what it is but it doesn't sound right,I would take it. Ack where the rack was done.

Garage seems to think it could be the egr valve sticking half way open.

If the EGR valve is sticking it will show up as a DTC in a diagnostic scan.

Would the EML light up or would it just show as an error when scanned ? We decided not to bother doing anything about it as my new car is arriving soon and after just spending £550 on a new steering rack I don't want to spend anymore on it.
