No need to remove the subframe, just the RH side drive shaft needs removing, then the PTU simply unbolts from the gearbox. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

I'm in a similar position, I've lost 4wd and suspect the splines are worn on the PTU, so need to remove to inspect.

Why take off the propshaft?

As above. No need to remove the propshaft, it just moves out the way.

If you are replacing the the strut I would advise disconnecting
|

I'd only trust Bell Engineering https://www.bellengineering.co.uk/shop, as they've been doing rebuilds on these items for years, and even offer new spline versions. |

I 've used bellengineering.co.uk , a few years back, to replace the rear diff and they did a great job. Unfortunately they dont ship to EU anymore as I found out.
