Hello everyone! I turn on the engine of my FL2 I6, 2009, and after 2 seconds the engine switches off. Check the fuel pump, fuel pressure, filters, fuse, battery, fuel injectors, lights, everything that can be measured. The key works perfectly all functions. The panel does not criticize anything, all the normal indicators. The problem appeared after starting the engine repair, where the battery has been unplugged for 24 hours. The question:
It is a normal behavior of Freelander? turn on and turn off? Just solve or ... ... there is a fault to find out?
Please dealership is far away and talking on the phone, failed to find a solution. I'm afraid that will dismantle the car and make the costly repair when the solution can be simple.

Are you saying it cranks for 2 seconds and then stops but engine never started, or engine starts and runs for 2 seconds then stops.

Not sure how the law is in Brazil but if they have caused a problem then I would get them to fix the problem, I know you said it is far away but it sounds like their fault.

It sounds similar to one of my old cars that had a faulty ignition switch.
All the dash lights came on as normal but it would only run while the ignition was in the start position, as soon as the key was released and went back to normal ignition on position the engine stopped.
I don't know if this could happen with the Freelander system though.
If it's had a second battery wired up just to run the starter motor ("tested with external power") could this have done something to the ECU. Mine, Saab convertible

The Freelander uses a key slot. The symptoms also think it's ECU. But I wanted to believe not.
