Car Seat Electrics

Does the heated seats looms plug into the car seat memory module or does it plug into a different one?

There is a separate module under each seat for the heating.
You'll also need to change the HVAC module for one with heated seat switches and have the CCF edited to enable the system. MY15

You'll need to either get your dealer to enable the "heated seat" field or someone with diagnostic equipment that can edit your CCF.
From memory there is more than one field that needs to be edited.
It's possible that the field is locked and the dealer will be unable to enable but as yours is a 2008 it may not be. I know MY13 onwards have this as a locked field. I'm not sure about pre MY13.
Cambo might know as he has an i6 around your MY. MY15

It's the large rectangular box underneath the leading edge of drivers seat. Right next to main wiring loom to seat wiring loom junction.
