England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Izmir Blue
Oil specification?

2007 Freelander2 manual. My local independent LR specialist reckons that the same oil can be used in the haldex as the manual gearbox? Any thoughts please?

No, not at all, whatsoever, never in a thousand years...... I think you get the picture! Laughing there are plenty of threads on here showing the specs of all fluids, go to another garage.

This specialist is a very respected long standing family run business but like the comments I will be using proper Haldex oil.

no doubt about... Thumbs Up maybe he's being confused by tons of oil specifications Confused

anyway, you can buy the Volvo oil, cheaper than the LR one and it comes in 1 liter bottle: item# 31367940 ( or 31325136).

I used this one in mine Thumbs Up

mind that if your car is <2009, you have a Gen3 Haldex unit so you must buy the Volvo filter because LR don't sell filters as spare part.

Search for item#30787687 Wink

I buyed mine @ haldexparts.com, service kit with 30787687 + 31367940 Thumbs Up

Looks like this is the oil (anyone concur ?). Does anyone know what it costs from a UK supplier ? This works out at today's exchange rate delivered around £35.
