Squib drives relate to airbag modules, so I imagine they are talking about the clock spring. (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Rimini Red

I'd investigate other causes first, as the clock spring is generally very reliable. There are also multiple connections going through the clock spring, which would possibly give intermittent operation of other steering wheel controls. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

The local indy has investigated this a few times and this is really last resort. The guy who did the MOT said that he may not be the one who does it next year (passed this time!) so it needs attending to. OEM part is about £150 ! so if it doesn't work they can give me a refund Laughing MY 2013 SD GS Auto
