Sounds like a failed latch. My rear passenger door exhibited the same behaviour, wouldn't lock but always unlocked with the fob. Latch replaced and all is well.

I have bitten the bullet and ordered the new locking motor and will fit it tomorrow. Lets hope that's it. This damn car is costing me a fortune! I bought a sensible car so it wouldn't!!!!!!!!!!!! |

To answer the questions I forgot about. It was £75 from eBay, fitting took about an hour (bit fiddly) and it has been pucker ever since.
