at the office we bought a laser xerox colour printer, within 3 weeks of busy office use, it got a piece of paper jammed in the heat element that dry the toner.

1 x engineer visit to release the paper,
1x printer that need to be fully dissembled to get to the part

Printer had to be exchanged, due to the engineer blowing it up,

We sent it back and changed to a Brother laser printer, never had a single problem with it

My mother solicitors firm, used Brother one and they lived up to the recomemdation

have a look at the Brother HL-2140 at www.printerbase.co.uk (very proffessional service on all of the above problem and swap and best prices around too Thumbs Up ) for £75'ish you can't go wrong with its 3 years free warranty Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

and you don't have the problem of the ink drying out like a inkjet does after not been used for a week or two Confused

Which ever laser you look at check the cost of toner/drums and how often these would need changing (how many pages they will print) Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

DEFINITELY go with a laser printer. FAR more reliable, and less costly to print on a per page basis. I've had several different types of inkjet printers and have come to the following conclusion. If you print a lot, it can get expensive running through those cartridges. If you don't print much, it can get expensive replacing those cartridges- they dry out too readily. A laser printer just plain works, whenever you need it.

And you can get a COLOR laser printer for very little. Check out this Samsung color laser printer that'll set you back $70 US after rebate:

That sounds like a bargain stateside, and not half bad in the UK Thumbs Up

I have a Samsung colour laser printer/scanner and I love it, especially compared to the HP photojet that I also have which is just absolute junk. Once you've tasted GREY you'll never go back!
